Even with modern clear coats which do so much to add beauty and shine to our vehicles, there are enemies to the preservation of a good paint job. Here are some items to be cautious of and some tips to keep that color popping for a long time to come.

Public enemy number one is very familiar to us in the desert. The sun can cause serious damage over time to the color and sheen of a vehicle. If at all possible make sure your car is parked under a garage or carport or a tree without sap. If that isn’t normally available to you, a good car cover of cloth or a synthetic material will still work to keep those UV rays far away.

While we may not need to worry as much about the salt air in our area, it’s something to keep in mind if you travel near the ocean and those fresh salty breezes rush over your shiny paint.
